thought it was pretty cool that Schwalbe makes a “flatproof” tire called the Marathon Plus (recommended to us by world traveller Heinz Stücke) which can withstand a thumbtack. Sure, they’re heavy and expensive, but they roll over anything, are super comfy, and really aren’t as sluggish as you’d expect.;property=original.gifI now find that the Continental Contacts that replaced the Top Tourings offer a 1 year guarantee against flats. It’s a much lighter tire than the Schwalbe and given the effect that rotational weight has on acceleration, and thus speed, this is a good thing.
